L'abîme. Nantes, esclavage colonial, 1707-1830

The Nantes History Museum is once again proposing to re-examine all of its colonial collections linked to the history of the slave trade and slavery in a major thematic exhibition, "L’abîme. Nantes, esclavage colonial, 1707-1030”.

Beyond economic and commercial approaches, which often prevail in the presentation of collections linked to this history, this exhibition will attempt to lift the veil on the complexity of reality, history and memory, in a city which, like Nantes was , was both a slave trader and slave city.
